If I Stay book is a story of about 17-year-old girl who had a car accident. Her parents and only brother died. When she was in coma, she realizes its upto her to choose if she wants to stay or to die.
She was thinking back on her relationships with her family, friends, and lover at the time.
Mostly, you can observe how quickly something with so much potential can change so unexpectedly. Even if she manages to survive this, you already know that. For her, nothing will ever be the same.
Through her stories and her time at the hospital we also get to know other people in her life who love her so fully that you will feel their pain for Mia’s uncertain future. What got me the most emotional was not Mia’s recalling her life moments but the reactions of others towards her.
More than anything else I’ve ever desired in my life; I want you to stay. The discomfort in his voice is audible. He pauses, breathes, clears his throat, and then he resumes. But I can understand why it might not be what you want because that’s what I want. So, I just wanted to let you know that I respect your decision to leave. It’s acceptable if you have to leave from us. If you want to quit arguing, that’s fine.
I feel something loosened for the first time since I realized Teddy was also gone, can hear my breath. I am aware that Gramps cannot be the pinch hitter I had hoped for in the ninth inning. He won’t remove my breathing tube or give me excessive amounts of morphine or anything like. But nobody has mentioned what I’ve lost to anyone today until now. Gran and Gramps were forewarned by the social worker not to upset me, yet it still feels like a gift when Gramps acknowledges me and gives me permission.
Gramps stays with me. He reclines backward in the chair. Now it’s quiet. Nearly audible in the silence are other people’s dreams. So quiet that you nearly hear me say, “Thank you, Gramps,”

Honestly if you want to know my opinion about this book, I didn’t enjoy this book but also, I didn’t exactly hate it.
