I remember how I came across this book ABSOLUTE PROOF by Stephen Frey on my cousin’s bookshelf. The story attracted me as it draws from much of the controversy surrounding the Kennedy assassination. It’s fair to compare Stephen Frey to a few very well-known thriller writers.
This narrative revolves around the Kennedy assassination and the idea that there might or might not be a tape out there that can reveal new information about who might have been responsible for this awful incident. Lots of twists and turns and a couple of, “I never expected that to happen” moments on my part.
The story starts when Cole Egan’s estranged father dies, leaving Cole the key to a safety deposit box. Cole discovers a DVD of the JFK assassination, shot from the opposite side of Dealey Plaza, inside the box. The tape offers absolute proof that Lee Harvey Oswald had not acted alone, if, indeed, he acted at all.
I’ve never read a book where there were so many characters switching allegiances and repeatedly revealing who they truly were, each time in a unique way. A bit hard to get into at first, once I got further into the story, the premise was engaging enough to finish the book. I will not say much in this book review you have to read it yourself.
